'Alu' Trekking

‘Alu’ is the name of the local shy and harmless monitor lizard which can sometimes be seen along the jungle river on this trek.

Led by our experienced local tour guide, our journey begins at Ulaman through nearby rice fields where you will learn about the Balinese irrigation system known as “Subak” which has been recognized by UNESCO. From the rice fields, you will learn more about the local wildlife, vegetation, and sacred temples while stopping for those scenic pictures along the way.

This 1.5 hr. tour continues along the Ulaman river where the hike gets more challenging through the jungle where you will have to cross the river bamboo bridge to get to the other side. Alu Trekking is an unforgettably fun, educational experience where you will learn about nature the land, and the Island of Bali.

Village Tour

Learn about the Balinese culture, religion, and traditions with this authentic guided tour of a local village and its temples near Ulaman.

This tour will start with a short drive to the surrounding area and will focus on the life and activities of the Balinese which could include agriculture, rice field irrigation system known as the ‘Subak’, farming, and harvesting depending on the season.

Try some local snacks and your hands at making the local daily offering called ‘Canang Sari’.
